Stainless steel insert for Masterbuilt coal tower

Fast delivery and spot-on quality material! The stainless steel easily withstands the heat, just as it should. Installation was straightforward, but a word of caution: take care not to damage the fire brick insulation when removing the original parts to install this insert. I purchased this insert for the charcoal hopper because the original metal plates in front of the fire bricks had already burned through after just a few months of use on my brand new Masterbuilt 800.I removed those damaged plates and replaced them with this stainless steel "firebox" insert. It fits well, and after several times of using it for some low & slow test runs, I can confirm it works perfectly. Yes, Masterbuilt officially states that the metal plates are designed to degrade over time, and that the fire bricks are food safe and heat resistant. Still, this feels like a design flaw. Seeing the original plates burn through so quickly — exposing the fire bricks directly to hot coals while the fan blows the air toward the food — didn’t sit well with me. Why not use stainless steel plates to prevent this? With this upgrade, I feel much safer knowing there's no chance of insulation debris being blown onto the food. Plus, I expect the overall lifespan of the barbecue to be much better protected. That peace of mind alone makes it worth it for me.

Verarbeitung top, Preis angemessen. Bei meinem oft genutzten Grill und dementsprechender Beanspruchung der Brennkammer, war der Einbau ein bisschen friemelig. Ich habe bei der Gelegenheit auch die Hitzeplatten ersetzt, was sich vermutlich bei jedem gut genutzten 1050 zu empfehlen ist. Auch die Dichtung erneuert man sicherheitshalber. In Verbindung mit dem Innenrost, ist die Brennkammer runderneuert. Ich gehe nun davon aus, dass ich noch ein paar Jahre Freude an dem Grill haben werde.

Dadurch das die Hitzeschilde bei meinem Kohleturm schon sehr stark durchgebrannt waren habe ich diese auch mit erneuert. Mit dieser Erweiterung erhoffe ich mir das das so schnell ( 2-3 Jahre) nicht wieder passiert. Verarbeitung und Passgenauigkeit top. Funktion konnte ich noch nicht testen, mein Hitzeverteiler ist nämlich auch überm Jordan gegangen.

Ist in Kombination mit den Rost ganz einfach zu installieren. Bei mir war die originalen Teil schon stark durchgebrannt. Musste die Originalteile ausrichten und wieder installieren. Dann kann man den Einsatz einfach reinschreiben.
